Two way to particpate:
There are two ways to participate in this travel opportunity: as a credit-earning student or as a "community participant". Space is limited and preference given to those that will sign-up for the 3-credit travel study course in our CLC Global Studies Department: The course is GLST 1491: Global Stuies Experience International Travel Costa Rica.
Although the travel package is not eligible for financial aid, the 3 credits are part of the student's load and are therefore eligible for financial aid to those that qualify. There are also a few community participant slots available which don't require one to sign-up for the 3 credits through CLC. However, there will be an additional $150 fee on top of the travel package that will be required.
As of August 25, 2015 the package price is $2172 for individuals under their "standard" arrangement. This is an arrangement based on availability and assigned at the hotel during travel and includes options in triple or quad rooms (depending on hotel availability at the time). There is the option of paying an additional $30 per night (upfront and before travel which amounts to an additional $240) to upgrade to a "double occupancy" room. This upgrade would automatically give you a 2-bed room for only two people, although couples traveling together may request a 1-bed room. The double occupancy is guaranteed and roommate selection before travel is possible with that upgrade. This base price of $2172 (triple/quad room) includes a $200 discount for those that sign up before October 15, 2015. That $200 discount will not be available after that date so the price will increase. So be sure to sign up before that date in order to secure the lowest price.
