Solas celtic concert

The Central Lakes College Cultural Arts Series welcomes the five-piece Celtic ensemble Solas to the Cultural Arts series sage in Chalberg Theatre on the Brainerd campus Thursday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. The concert in Chalberg Theatre features a blend of Celtic traditional, folk and country melodies, bluesy sometimes jazz-inspired improvisations and global rhythms. “Solas offers a compellingly original, strikingly contemporary view of traditional Celtic sounds,” said the Los Angeles Times. The group is described as the most popular, influential and exciting Celtic band to ever emerge from the United States. The band, led by Seamus Egan (pictured) has performed at Symphony Hall, Wolf Trap, the Ford Amphitheater, and Queens Hall in Edinburgh, Scotland. Tickets are $20 advance, $25 on the day of the concert, and $10 for students. The box office phone number is (218) 855-8199, or e-mail clctheatre@clcmn.edu for information.
